Today Spinifex CEO and Veteran Adam Barnard is proud to announce the selection of registered charity VETROK - Proud supporters of Ward 17 as the chosen Victorian Charity for F88 www.f88.com.au
VetRok is a registered charity that was set up in July 2017. The purpose of the charity was to raise awareness and funds for Veterans and First Responders and their families.
We have worked closely with the Veterans Psychiatric Unit or Ward 17 of the Austin Health’s repatriation hospital in Heidelberg Victoria. We have funded the wards Sensory Room, a room developed by the clinic staff to assist the guests with sensory work that aids in the understanding of anxiety and PTSD symptoms. We have also funded some additional features of the ward such as cooking equipment, massage chairs and arts equipment.
VetRok itself started off in humble terms in December 2017 with its first concert being held in Longwarry VIC. All bands and artists that appeared that day did so without charging for their time, and gifting their talents to help raise the funds. In 2018 we expanded the artist lists with artists such as Joe Camilleri, Matt Taylor and Mike Elrington. In 2019 we moved venue and expanded again this time over two days with headlining the event was Russell Morris.
In 2020 we had to cancel the event due to Covid-19, but started working hard on the next evolution of the series. We will be announcing our Regional Vic Tour on 12 July 2021, this tour will have three major acts from well known 90’s artists.
The tour is initially set for 8 dates with expansion planned for the tour go and Covid not present as a further issue.
In 2022 the main VetRok Tour set to tour Vic, NSW, QLD and SA in November 2022.
We are honoured to be partnering with Spinifex for the F88 program and look forward along with the funds raised from the Regional Tour to deliver further outstanding programs for Veterans and their families. David Dent CEO VetRok Inc
On behalf of the Spinifex Team we are delighted to be announcing VetRok as our chosen DGR Registered Victorian charity. The concept of supporting a cause that uses Rock concerts as a means to raising significant funds for Veteran Mental Health is an obvious synergy for our growing brewery. The opportunity to provide tap beer for the events in addition to the vast existing contacts that David has within the Victorian RSL and Hospitality space is extraordinary and we are extremely confident following this announcement the post covid rollout in Victoria will increase exponentially.
We are extremely grateful for our launch venue Coburg RSL to Geoff and the team for the significant and ongoing support they have provided to the cause. Whilst COVID has created significant challenges we are pleased to finally be moving forward with a full roll-out across Victoria.
Packaged and Tap locations will be announced in the weeks ahead.
