Spinifex Brewing Co Australia's first Aboriginal and Veteran owned Craft Brewery reaches for the Sky
18th May 2021
Spinifex Brewing Co is delighted to announce our selection by APT Travel Group as the regional beverage provider partner for the 2021 Kimberley Cruising Season on board the Expedition Ship MS Caledonian Sky commencing 11th June 2021.
Enjoy the luxurious freedom of an all-inclusive lifestyle aboard the MS Caledonian Sky. Featuring just 51 suites, the MS Caledonian Sky is perfectly suited to intimate small group adventures, while personalised attention is assured thanks to the crew of seventy-five.
When not off exploring nature’s onshore marvels or cruising on a Zodiac safari, APT guests are treated to an onboard lifestyle that is as relaxing as it is stimulating. It’s easy to get to know your fellow guests in a comfortable, informal atmosphere.
Following on from the success and positive feedback of the Spinifex range after the rollout across APT Kimberley Wilderness lodges its an exciting development for the Spinifex team to be added to the inclusive menu and welcome drinks on board this spectacular vessel.
Upon boarding guests will be treated to a selection of our beers infused with native Australian ingredients.
With every aspect of their operation in the Kimberley, APT strives to respect the region’s environment and culture to ensure its protection for future generations. This involves connecting with likeminded suppliers such as Spinifex Brewing Company, an Aboriginal and Veteran-owned company with a focus on giving back to the region.
The brewing company works closely with Aboriginal native food producers in the region to source ingredients for their unique range of beer, which is infused with native Australian bush ingredients such as wattle seed and lemon myrtle. Through the development of the Spinifex supply chain, the company is able to deliver economic benefit and employment opportunities to local Aboriginal communities. Not only that, 50 per cent of all sales from the Spinifex F88 range of beer goes to supporting the mental and physical wellbeing of returned service men and women.
It’s this shared love of the Australian Outback and a common goal to support its traditional land owners makes for a successful partnership between the two companies said APT’s General Manager Product, Mladen Vukic.
“While people often come to the Kimberley for the landscapes, APT has always celebrated the history and incredible people who are making a real difference to the region. We really admire Spinifex’s mission and the way in which they are ensuring there are opportunities for local Aboriginal communities. It’s an initiative we want to see thrive and we look forward to sharing their amazing work, and beer, with our guests,” said Vukic.
Spinifex Brewing Company’s Chief Executive Officer Adam Barnard reiterated, “We’re really proud to be the only company in Australia making beer from local and traditional produce and can’t wait for Caledonian Sky's guests to taste the unique flavours of the region and Australia.”
“Expanding our relationship with APT means we can continue to support local Aboriginal-owned food producers as well as the wellbeing of returned service men and women, while also raising our profile so that we reach a broader market,” said Barnard.
