The Beginning's of a Pearl Farmers dream

It was the year of 1946 when Dean Brown was navigating the pristine Kimberley coastline in a wooden lugger, that he discovered the secluded, unspoilt beauty of Cygnet Bay along with the precious gift of the Pinctada maxima pearl shell. It was in these waters that his pearling dream was realised and the first Australian owned and run South Sea pearl farm began. The Brown family held onto this connection to the ocean and remain proud custodians of their grandfather’s 75 year legacy, running one of only a few commercial pearl farms still operating in Western Australia.

"Its an absolute honour to be continuing my long term association with Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm and in particular with Jessie Hornblow as well as James Brown the highly respected 2020-21 Australian Farmer of the year."
"For almost a decade I have been delivering tourists to Cygnet Bay via ADAMS Pinnacle Tours and now I have the pleasure of serving them the most refreshing locally inspired beverages in the Kimberley. Spinifex is now available across Western Australia and the feedback on our range continues to inspire us all to keep creating "The Taste of Australia" - Adam Barnard CEO Spinifex Brewing Co

Spinifex CEO Adam Barnard and Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm Homestead Restaurant Manager Robert Boorman pour the first schooners on tap at Cygnet Bay.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be able to offer tap beers for the first time in our Homestead Restaurant, and not just any beers, but the new Cable Beach Sunset Ale and Spinifex Ginger Beer infused with Geraldton Waxflower which are sure to be a big hit with our customers and will extend our range of Spinifex beers that we already offer.
We love working with Adam and the amazing Spinifex team and promoting another great local product that is as big on Provenance and community as we are.” Jessie Hornblow - Executive Manager Pearls of Australia
